いわゆる雑訳。
過度の要約・雑訳・大約によって、細かな表現や内容は割愛されてしまっている、ないし、原文とは違うものに置き換えられている例群。
原文の細かで個性的な表現へのリスペクトが不足しており、意味合いやニュアンスがずれてしまっている例も含む。

小説や詩の翻訳並みに、マンガ作品の文章表現にも、もっとリスペクトを払えないものだろうか？ より忠実に精緻にすることは十分に可能だと思わせられる例が端々に見受けられる。
一般的に言って、アメリカ人翻訳者による翻訳は、文学作品の場合も、イギリス人のそれと比べ、大雑把にはしょる傾向が強いと言われているが、なぜ、原文に忠実にしないのか、個人的にはまったく共感できない。
たしかに、おそらくその半分は、マンガの空間的容量制約の問題と絡んでいると思われるが、主に子ども向けの読み物として誕生し発展してきたアメコミの世界とは別に、多くの日本のマンガ作品は、すでにもう今では半世紀以上のあいだ、成熟した大人のための「グラフィカルな文学作品」としても読まれてきた。英語圏で長らく慣例となっている「全大文字（オールキャピタル）」でのテキスト表記をやめ、フォントサイズをより臨機応変に縮小・拡大するなどの新たな試みを取り入れない限り、根本的には解決しづらい問題だと思われる。
と同時に、まったく空間的制約がないと思われる場合でも、大幅な改変を伴う大約になっているケースも実際ひじょうに多いので、この問題が質的意識の次元の問題でもあるのがわかる。

1巻第1話より。矢代の内省のシーンから。
「腐れ縁」という訳しにくい表現をいかに訳すか、また、ダーシ「——」が省かれることで減る、臨場感や強調、余韻、省略などの効果の問題の例。「（影山が男を）ものにする」という部分が「どうやって他の男に惚れて、どうやって恋愛関係を上手くこなすのか」と変えられていたり、「跳ね返ってくるナイフ」がいつやってくるのかの時制の理解などに誤訳もあるのを正した。

1巻より。三角と矢代の会食の場で、突然酔い潰れて意識を失った矢代を百目鬼が運ぶシーンから。
三角のセリフの「なあ⁉」などの細かな表現の抜けやずれを修正。三角のセリフのうち「頭って綺麗だ」の部分が三人称に置き換えられてしまっているのも修正した。
また、既刊全般に言えることだが、なぜ三点リーダーのダブル「……」の数や、二重感嘆符「!!」の数を、ほぼつねに一貫して「…」「!」とシングルに数を減らして統一するのが慣例となっているのか、その必要性が筆者には理解できない。そのために端々で、本来の日本語版では存在していたインパクトやニュアンスが損ねられ消え去っており残念である。
